Rachel trained at Middlesex University then went on to complete a directing internship at the HB studios New York. Her work as an assistant director includes Les Liaison Dangerous and Popcorn at the Liverpool Playhouse both directed by Robert Delamere, Art at the Whitehall theatre and A Slice Of Saturday Night at Mountview drama school both directed by Hannah Chiswick and the Japanese tour of Blood Brothers directed by Glen Walford.

Rachel formed her own theatre company, Rested Theatre Company, in May 2004 with whom she directed How Many Ducks In Stacey at the Union Theatre.
